25/07/2008    Faiveley Transport USA Wins Its First Ever Brake Actuator (BFC) Overhaul Contract for the Entire Heavy Rail Fleet of Greater Cleveland Rapid Transit Authority Vehicles.

Through significant technical sales and marketing efforts led by Faiveley Transport USA, and expertly supported by Faiveley Transport Nordic, the securing of this order establishes Faiveley’s arrival in the North American brake actuator service business.

Faiveley Transport USA announced today that it has received its first order for its BFC tread brake unit overhaul services. The Greater Cleveland Rapid Transit Authority (GCRTA) has trusted Faiveley with the overhaul of its entire fleet of heavy rail vehicles over the next four years.

The Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (officially the GCRTA, but historically and locally referred to as the RTA) is the public transit agency for Cleveland, Ohio, USA, and the surrounding suburbs of Cuyahoga County. RTA is the largest transit agency in Ohio. RTA owns and operates the RTA Rapid Transit rail system (better known as "The Rapid"), which consists of one heavy rail line (the Red Line) and three light rail lines (the Blue, Green and Waterfront Lines).

Faiveley has been selling HVAC equipment to the RTA for many years, but this brake actuator overhaul contract is the first of its kind for Faiveley Transport USA. It meshes well with Faiveley’s strategy to become a major force in the North American transit services business.

Faiveley is extremely pleased to announce new contracts with its existing customers, as this is
the best confirmation of product quality, performance, reliability, and overall customer satisfaction.
