17/04/2008    Faiveley Transport wins a contract to provide state of the art brakes’ technology for 170 metro cars for lines 6 and 8 of the Shanghai metro.
First delivery of the EPAC lite, Faiveley’s latest brake system technology for metro cars, is expected to take place on 15th December 2008 with the main contractor, Changchun Railway Vehicle Co. Ltd (CRC) who currently holds the largest share of China’s metro car market.
 
Two local Chinese sites, Qingdao Faiveley SRI Rail Brake Co. Ltd and Jiaxiang Precision Machinery Co. Ltd will be delivering the order together with Faiveley Transport Piassasco, Italy.  
 
This is a strategically important win, and with China’s total metro car market reaching 1500 cars a year, this may open the door for future opportunities within the metro brake market in China .
