Faiveley Transport wins an important long term contract with Alstom Transport for the supply of complete braking and door systems for the SNCF’s new generation of single deck regional trains.

Faiveley Transport will deliver the complete brake, air supply and passenger access systems for 200 trains initially, with options for a future order of up to 1000 trains.

This order confirms Alstom Transport’s confidence in Faiveley Transport’s state of the art braking and passenger access technology. The braking equipment includes Faiveley Transport’s Buran air supply, IBU brake control, compact brake cylinders, wheel mounted discs and magnetic track brakes. Faiveley Transport will also supply the passenger access doors, movable steps and access ramps for disabled people. The train’s availability will also be increased thanks to the latest generation of electronic control units with integrated predictive maintenance functions.

10 trainsets will be delivered in 2011 and fully tested for a year; the main part of the production will be launched early 2013. This project will call upon the expertise of five of Faiveley Transport’s European sites, Amiens (France), St. Pierre des Corps (France), Piossasco (Italy), Tarragona (Spain) and Witten (Germany).
