In the early 2000’s a car builder sold a double BoBo locomotive for use in the Chinese market, influenced by its European Prima locomotive technology, with a transfer of technology to a local Chinese locomotive manufacturer . Faiveley Transport accompanied its customer by adapting its European brake and couplers technilogies to the specific Chinese conditions.

This technology transfer required a total flexibility to follow local Chinese requirements, above and beyond what would be considered normal by many: with particular attention to local habits and expectations.

Faiveley Transport’s adaptability brought this project to a satisfactory end and has extended to working directly with Chinese car builders, achieving homologation directly for over 500 locomotives.

Finally, new projects are now on line, undertaking even incorporating some very significant changes  with respect to emergency procedures and matching the regional habits of driving the locomotive.
